Nietzsche, Twitter, and Trump's Second Term
During this time of real and digital horrors, I want to make a post hardly anyone else will. Some figures on the far right wing now think Nietzsche is the masculine ubermensch. The fascist author Bronze Age Pervert started this reframing a few years back. Nietzsche was actually sickly, disabled, a disturbed mind. It led to a limit where he was only capable of writing short aphorisms, which were collated into full books. Nowadays Nietzsche would be an intellectual, contrarian, incel Twitter troglodyte like kantbot/wydna or Logo Daedalus
I read Nietzsche's Will to Power during my first psychotic break at 17. Because I truly stared into the abyss, my parents had to confiscate the book before my psych ward hospitalization. It's a disservice to reduce Nietzsche into just influencing the Nazis, but that's where the far right dominating our culture war is at. They can't read more than a paragraph
On a more basic level, think about how many tweet screenshots you see every time you scroll. Think of all the disgusting AI propaganda posted to the official Twitter pages of The White House and Department of Homeland Security this year, that you've seen through osmosis. Twitter is still the nexus of the Western World's political zeitgeist.
I'm still on Twitter for hours a day and real Marxists stuck around too. After Charlie Kirk's assassination, it feels like posting on Radio Rwanda, utterly hopeless to us. The United States and United Kingdom are undoutably in a psychotic political moment. 80 years ago our nations were the allies. We might be the axis within a few short years
