if a regime is immoral, its subjects are free from all obligations to it
Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn
In searching for a good quote on civil disobedience, anarchy and revolt, I was flabbergasted at the amount of quotes by the most recognised names in history. Writers, lawmakers, politicians, scientists, philosophers, ... and the common person.
It appears the greatest in their time and field all have gone through the stages of civil disobedience, revolt and anarchy in order to give their interpretation on these concepts in light of their time and situational circumstances.
What is a moral regime? Is there such a thing? Isn't it as Noam Chomsky said:
If we choose, we can live in a world of comforting illusion.
And as such, is it not action triggered by threshold which is existential to civil disobedience, anarchy and revolt? Perceived freedoms contrasting with alienation?
Food for thoughts ...
Naturally, Switzerland, based on my ongoing experience, is the most immoral of states.
