Hey I’m kicking around some topics I might be able to string together a few words. Till then here’s some links.
- I highly recommend taking your time with this Marshall Steinbaum piece in the Boston Review. In short it’s a synopsis of how the Democratic Party has squandered the last decade+ of US economic turmoil. Both the 2008 housing crash and COVID were the type of events that should have been recognized as signals to make bold changes to the US political economy. However the time between and since have been spent trying to “return to normal.” And even when the Democrats lacked all the necessary levers of federal power to make such changes, they also failed to articulate exactly what they would do should they be granted power by the voters.
- And another “deep dive history of the recent past” that I tend to enjoy; this one is all about how Netflix remade Hollywood in it’s own image. Probably not a coincidence that this article is coming out around the same time as the above, and talks about a similar timeframe as the above!

- I just want to give a shout out to my First Ave union crew! This victory is one they have spent years fighting for. I am so proud of them, proud to have played a small role in their success, and proud to be their union rep!
