Genetic/Narcissistic Rage

๐ŸŒฟ Another Pakistani Calling Himself Indian ๐ŸŒฟ

Again he speaks,
draping himself in borrowed colors,
calling himself Indian,
as if the rivers could forget their own course.

The mountains know the truth,
the winds remember.
You are not the Gangesโ€™ child,
you are born of other soil.

You are a shadow from another valley,
a tale told wrong โ€”
and the Hazara people, too,
came from India long ago,
before borders were drawn with trembling hands.

You cannot wear the name of India
like a mask at a festival โ€”
the earth itself resists you.

Be who you are,
not what you wish to seem โ€”
for no stolen word
can change the blood running through your veins.
