some of my thoughts and notes

Home

I hadn't expected that becoming part of a small family and sleeping in a bed would feel so good.

Space to move, a soft mattress, a toilet available whenever I want. These small luxuries increase in value after missing them for a while.

But most importantly, being welcomed by someone who feels like a kindred soul, who shares some similar life experience, and is eager to exchange some of it, is what makes it feel like home.

Now the boys are at school, Quino is at the dentist and will come back around noon, and just left me in his home to do whatever I want.

“If you're hungry, remember this is your home.”

It's insane to me how fast the feeling of home can surface in me when the conditions are right, when someone calls for it.
