Darkness
The security man who closed the parking place close to the river in Montpellier had been very friendly but also strict. I had to leave, but he would show me another place where I could sleep.
I thanked him and told him I'd find a place and drove off to the sea. The first parking spot also prohibited parking during the night, but the second only prohibited caravans from entering. Strictly speaking, I'm only driving a car. So I went in and took a short walk to the beach.
Behind me Montpellier was still lighting up the clouds and down the shore I could see the lights of Frontignan.
Only out on the sea there was a patch of darkness in the sky, lying there on the water like a black cloud, stretching out three blurry arms towards me.
It was a scary yet beautiful sight, sadly impossible for me to photograph.
Now that I'm back in my car it has started raining, I hope that nobody will evict me from here today and that I can continue reading my book in peace.
