Llançà
Going out for lunch in Llançà is a funny experience. I've been told that today is a local holiday but I suspect that things aren't too different here on a regular Monday.
The counter in the small bar was packed with people, so much that I wasn't sure whether I'd be served food here. But some other people were eating, so I had a good feeling.
And soon, the guy behind the counter gave me his attention, and when I asked whether they served food he only told me to sit down.
With the lunch menu I had the choice between a glass of wine and a bottle of water. Everyone else seems to have chosen the wine, or the beer.
Also, everyone seems to know each other and people are in a funny, mischievous and cheerful mood.
Maybe this is the alcohol, but I strongly suspect that this simply is how they are most of the time.
When someone comes in and is in a bit of a bad mood, the first thing after pulling a friend's cap into her face he gets his head rubbed properly, and he's smiling again.
When a guy who has been eating alone finishes he goes to the bar to drink an espresso.
I thoroughly enjoyed dissecting the fish that was served to me as a whole. The first bite of it seems shivers over my whole body, maybe these were the nutrients that it craved.
