Pain 5
Yesterday I used a fresh cutter knife to remove some grates from holes drilled into aluminium. I used quite a bit of force and it worked quite well until the blade was pointing towards my left thumb.
The brief thought that this was stupid came a bit too late, the blade slipped and slipped right into the left flank of my left thumb, all the way until it stopped at the nail.
The pain and the bleeding were intense. But somehow I managed to press the wound together until no more blood was flowing and the cut was almost invisible. It still hurt but I just kept it like that for a couple of minutes until it was sticking together on its own.
Now, a bit less than a day later, it seems almost fully healed. It's quite fascinating how you don't need to repair the body, it usually repairs itself.
