some of my thoughts and notes

write.as

This platform has been a brilliant tool for me since almost three years now. I still love reading one of my first posts and digging out the music I listened to back then.
To me, this has been like a diary, but one that's always there.
Not one that gets lost in one of my Github repositories or one of my folders on my hard-drive. This is accessible, to me, to anyone.

And because it has been so useful to me as a tool, I recently decided to just buy the Pro subscription for five years. Not because I wanted more, but just because I wanted to support this.

Nothing really changed for me with that except my bank account got a bit lighter. Then, a message popped up in my dashboard:

Hi! I'm Matt, the founder of Write.as. I'd love to talk to you, and personally get to know you better. What are you interested in? What are you working on? What would make Write.as work better for you?

If you're interested, you can schedule a time to chat one-on-one with me about anything on your mind. Just click the link below to find a time. I look forward to talking!

I actually forgot the first call I scheduled, but Matt was willing to take another chance. And it was actually fascinating to chat with him.

I learned about so many things that had escaped my attention so far.
I could give other people the same experience I had in the last three years by just inviting them for a Free Account (which is not available to the public anymore). That's all I wanted!

But more than that, I can also use snap.as to vastly simplify my image game here. I can host as many images as I want! How amazing is that?

And there is a rich text editor that is even simpler than plain Markdown!

There's so much to try here and I love the mutually respectful relation that Matt and I established during our call. I know I can rely on him. And I hope he also understood that he can rely on me if he ever runs into trouble.

I also like the idea of a shared writing space but I'll ask about that once it becomes really interesting.

I also want to refer back to my thoughts about Money simply being a catalyst. Of course I could have kept writing on a free account, but by giving away the salary of around two days of my work, I felt better, Matt felt better, and now I still feel better.
