Eugen Rochko says Mastodon is considering quote posting
Eugen Rochko has made a post on Mastodon, saying that the development team is considering adding quote posting. He notes that if it would be added, it would come with an opt-out feature.
Quote posting, or quote tweeting as its called on Twitter, has been subject of significant discussion in recent days. Proponents feel it is an important feature to give better context to discussions that are happening on the platform. Opponents fear that it encourages harrasment and dunking on opponents.
Other microblogging clients on the fediverse, such as Akkoma and Misskey, include quote posting functionality, while Mastodon does not.
