Sunrocket'd
Well, that was a bad call. SunRocket basically imploded this week, and I'm unlikely to see a prorated return on my flat $200 for a year of service. So now I'm on the fence; I'd sure hate to come crawling back to Vonage in time to watch them implode the same way.
SunRocket's “sorry we screwed the pooch” e-mail provides links to Packet8 and TeleBlend, who are offering deals to the 200K folks that are now looking for a new phone service. Well, I've heard of Packet8, but why does the name “Teleblend” give me an image of someone running a VoIP server and a media gateway in their basement? Personally, I think my experiment with VoIP may go on hold for a while. It may be time for a Triple Play...
