Opinion
Opinion is a word which
when I say it out loud, leaves
my mouth mostly open
and full of air.
I peel back its layers
of O's, I's, and N's
only to find that despite
its substantial appearance,.
there's nothing in there —
a tough shell shielding
puffs of air.
Unlike a homeopathic pill,
the more I dilute mine
the healthier I get.
I can pick one up
at a market near me,
but beware they don't come
with a label —
neither the humble ones
nor the personal truths,
nor those sold in cardboard boxes
commonly used to store facts.
