Greenland
Of all the water I knew
Up to lightspeed from Rome
And all the earth filled with rain
To seep below to the falls of a day
To snow and rise over rocks of a Dane
To be pressed into fine-grained words
And rocky heaven under millibars of gold
Where we sought a trail to view
And the bright forest of the Bananaβs stars
In its coast a wayward ship
And duels of lime in the fulsome fabric
Of payment in peace to Grenadier
I lost my kin to the deep bright ocean
-For their love was fitted to part
So I dove for cetaceans
And avoided war
And Canada was blessed to be there
