Apparently in Barcelona you can spit on people without any consequences.
Here I am, waiting at the Llacuna metro station's platforn happy about may day off and planning to wander around the city, when suddenly a guy spit on me from behind. Do not know the guy, do not think I have ever met the guy. He entered the platform very agitated and spit into the trashcan. As I was eating a Napolitana I turned around and started to move deeper into the platform, away from the guy. I guess, after the initial spitting, he was doing the same, moving deeper into the platform, and while coming closer to me, he spit on me.
I turned immediatelly asking what da fuck is wrong with him. He sat on a bench in front of me repeating “fuck” and laughing. I took out my phone to make a photo of him. He started waving his hands in front of his face to make sure his face will not be fully visible and later moving away.
I informed the lady, a TMB worker, near the entrance to the station about the incident, but she said that if I need to report it I should go to the police station. At the police station they said that I can report it, but as there was nothing illicit they would not follow on it. And that the responsibility of taking action rests on TMB.
Anyway, turns out spitting on someone is obviously unpleasant (for that someone) and regrettable, but well… not illicit.
