Israel, the Orwellian state

The state of Israel is driven by propaganda. Israel is the best in the world and defending all the highest democratic and human values, and it is everyone else that is bad, and for sure anti-semitic: Palestinians, neighbour countries, United Nations – as the propaganda goes.

Now Mr. President of the state of Israel wrote:

I welcome the major steps announced by the Israeli leadership and military to strengthen and upgrade the humanitarian response in Gaza — particularly the decision to implement humanitarian pauses to protect civilian lives and allow the safe delivery of aid. In coordination with international partners, Israel is doing its utmost to improve the flow of vital supplies through designated corridors, airdrops, and expanded humanitarian zones. I call on UN agencies and international organizations working with @COGATonline to do their part and ensure that aid reaches those in need without delay — as Israel has demanded for some time. It is unacceptable that aid delivered to Gaza remains undistributed or is hijacked by Hamas, even as they falsely accuse Israel of blocking it. The world must stand firm against terror — and work relentlessly to bring all our hostages home immediately.

The problem with that statement is that there was a ceasefire in Gaza, but Israel broke it and then imposed a blockade. Then decided that the aid distribution should not be handled by UN agencies, and passed that task to Gaza Humanitarian Foundation. The GHF was not up to the task, as we know. And now, Mr. President is trying to convince us it is United Nations agencies and other international organizations fault that Gaza is starving and that Israel is doing everything in its power to help the Palestinians.

One could ask: For fuck’s sake, what is that guy talking about?

The other problem with the statement from Mr. President is that he welcomes the major steps announced by the Israeli leadership and military to strengthen and upgrade the humanitarian response in Gaza ommiting the uncomfortable fact that actions and decisions made by the state of Israel, after the initial ceasefire agreement was made, created the unbearable situation in Gaza.

I agree with Mr. President, that the world must stand against terror, but, and here we disagree, against all terror, and in particular, the terror created and re-created every day by the state of Israel in Palestine.
