Daily posts – either fact or fiction – about what goes on in my life (includes thoughts too now)

Day unknown.
Part 1
Regression
Don't you feel as you've gotten older you've regressed.
Is it old age or tiredness?
Do you care less now or are you just not bothered?
The motivation is drained and left behind
As you leave behind your youth
The vigour
The struggle
The drive
Left at nature's doorstep
As we all seek out the divine.

Part 2
Hope
It's not lost.
We find it in pockets where we least expect it
The child holding on
The adult on their knees
I can and will survive they mutter to themselves
The one they you can't dampen
Seeking the sunrise, after a long dark night.

Part 3
Realisation
It hits you.
Like a brick in the face.
That it's you.
You swore it isn't.
You could never be the problem.
You feel it in your stomach.
The guilt hits you next.
Then the coldness.
As the heat is snatched away from you.

Part 4
Dreams
Aren't they sublime.
They live in a pocket of your mind.
Conjure up good but equally terrifying.
You can't separate reality from the sometimes. When you're chasing them without thought.
The feeling of sleeping is the same as working away.
Hoping.
To realise.
Your dream.
Pushing back the regression.
Of the state of death.
Time to wake up.
For I am calling.
