haha, did they expect the waters of creativity to pour forth, on demand?
Someone at ABC* organisation: “here are some mechanical parts from old train-carriages, do something creative with it, go on, make an artwork, we'll pay you for it!”
Someone at XYZ organisation: “we have a lot of documents in our archives, go on, do something creative with it, we'll pay you SGD$3,000 a month while you're working on it!”
A manager at a restaurant: “I heard you used to work as a bartender, I thought you could help us concoct new drinks, based on our existing ingredients. We can discuss your pay-package.”
It seems to me there is a demand for creativity, but a lack of supply.
Alas, who knows how to foster creativity, or the all-important eureka moments?
And, has anyone really conducted a study into The Science of Creativity? I, for one, would be interested in hearing the results of such a study.
(And, by the way, did Archimedes really have an eureka moment in a bath-tub?)
