Crossing guard sonnet #1
Shall i compare you to a crossing guard?
You are less stoic and less calm and kind
Neighing horses do break the silence hard
but a crossing guard really doesn't mind
Sometime too rash a student rushes by
and often will they not even say thanks
And many drivers seem drunk, even high
as they toot their horns worth two million francs
Oh, were you like a calm crossing guard, dear
I would raise you the seventh heaven!
I would praise you to the world, far and near
In IKEA and 7-11!
Alas, you are just a guy in a suit
mansplaining me in our daily commute.
