#POTUS Election Control
Well we come finally to the question of who is running our democracy. Almost every state will have, early next year, an election called a Primary. Are you a Democrat, well thanks for paying for the Primary. Are you a Republican, well thanks for paying for the Primary. Are you an Independent, well thanks for paying for the Primary and also for not participating in it.
Primaries are party functions only. They exist to provide an illusion of choice within a system of control. If you are a Democrat you don't vote in the Republican Primary. If you are an Independent, you don't vote in either because you don't belong to a political party. But, that doesn't mean that you aren't going to pay for the party you have no invitation to. Your state government takes your taxes to pay for an election many cannot participate in.
Parties are the way political groups ensure that you never have a choice other than the individual they selected as a candidate for office. To make sure you don't, the parties have enshrined their selection process in your electoral law and seen to it that no one else can participate. In addition, the legislatures in most states force the citizens to pay for it.
Ever hear of the Green Party or the Libertarian Party? Chances are not only have you never heard of these political parties but, you never will because your state legislature made sure they would never be able to appear on the November ballot by making a requirement the cost to participate and the requirement for huge numbers of signatures on Petitions, a bar which the Democrats and Republican don't have to come anywhere near meeting because of your generous stolen donation, er I mean taxes.
So, are we all not suckers for having to pay for a system that lets the two political parties restrict our choices? You bet we are and we should stop doing it.
