A sunset on the beach:
There's nothing quite like a sunset on the beach. When the clouds turn pink and shades of blue, purple, orange, red, and yellow blend effortlessly in the sky. When the wind blows through your hair and you inhale the cool salty air. The birds, dogs and kids all play as the day fades to night. As the sun drops lower in the sky it seems to grow larger and a deeper shade of orange. The ocean reflects a beam of light with a magic quality. Runners run by, and children run in the sand after seagulls and away from the waves along the shore. Everyone on the beach shares an understanding of the magic of the moment. Try to take pictures and I promise you will find that nothing can truly capture the moment, the experience, the feeling. You can't taste the salty air, or hear the waves crashing along the shore or the subtle breeze. That's why I write this now as I sit on the beach experiencing this moment. I must capture that feeling of all-consuming bliss and tranquility where everything feels right in the world. I need to capture this reminder of what is real and what matters in life. To remember why we must live and what it means to live instead of merely existing. As the sun sets on another day, I must remember my sunsets are limited, so I must make every one count.
