Youtube Haitus Near Over, and A Note on The WriteAs Experiment
Hey everyone, hope your Christmas and New Years was was good one! With Febuarary fast approaching I just wanted to keep everyone up to date with how the Haitus has went so far, and update on the next video.
The Haitus Has Gone Well For The Most Part
The hiatus was something that I needed. Not only was I getting a little burnt out near the end 2022, and after a issue with a linux install before I was going make a video was final straw. I took December and January (kinda) off so I could relax a little, and get adjusted to my new the schedule at the place that work. Still kind of adjusting but now with an extra day off per week I should be able to mostly do things, and hopefully more while still getting rest.
It was nice to relax with family during the holidays again, and I hope to repeat that next year.
That being said I seem to be under the weather or I’ve developed some kind of acid reflex issues (again). Not sure why but I’ll be keeping an eye on it. Kind of annoying. Sleep has not been the greatest.
That being said I’m itching to start making video content again.
The Video Goal for 2023
As people who have read one of my previous blogs might know, I have goal of at least posting 6 non short videos in the New Year. This is due to my poor output previous years, while still wanting to realistic. If I do more than 6 this year GREAT, but 6 is the goal.
I manifested this as one video every 2 months, but frankly so long as I can find the time to make videos, it might be more than that. It all depends on what happens this year.
I also made a commitment to 2 shorts a month, but I don’t have a hard goal on shorts as it honestly just depends on however many original or repackaged shorts can be produced. This is because of their nature, shorts can usually be made quite fast compared to the scripted content.
These “time sensitive goals” are just so I’m somewhat accountable, but I will give my self slack if the month is busy. Life happens.
So About That Next Video
In January, I have worked on videos. For the most part it’s been scripts that I can record through out the year. I easily have a quite a scripts done. This includes a channel trailer, an update video going more into depth on this year’s plans, a video on Animal Crossing wild world, several videos on some software I use, and the long awaited video on my gaming laptop running a linux distro. Now it’s just a matter of producing those videos, but the good news about that is I have plenty to work on for this year.
The first video I planned to get out was… yet another capture card related video. But this time it was about playing games in the obs preview. HoweverI ran into a snag where I record some footage at the wrong frame rate. Some camera footage was 60i (so basically) instead of 60p… I was not happy.
So that video might take some time to get off that ground now that I need to go back and rerecord some footage. With any luck that video might still be done by Febuarary if not March.
That being said, the footage I did record in that wrong format was probably some of the funniest gameplay I’ve ever done. Because man I’m garbage at Soulcalibur 3. So I will be making a edited down video of me having tech issues, and not being good at a fighting game. Live reaction gaming content is my usual not my wheel house, but I think what I recorded was dumb enough that it was worth it for a supplementary video.
The moment I get the time since I have busy week ahead of me, I will be editing that down and it should be out some point in February no doubt.
A Note About the Blog
I also wanted to touch upon this Blog’s performance so far. As I’ve mentioned, the blog is kind of creative outlet that I use as a way of getting my thought down and out on the internet without having to make a full video (at least not right a way).
I have been pleasantly surprised with the performance of my most recent posts on this blog. The most popular blog posts on here is the ones on MultiVersus, and YouTube’s Recent policy change are over 100 reads. The latter having over 200!
Naturally these are hot topics, but it’s still more than I expected and I’m glad that people have taken a shine to those posts. It’s been a motivating factor to post and I am happy to say that I will continue to do so. Paying for this blog has been WAY better than for Twitter Blue!
This has made me consider email subs in the near future, but we’ll see. That being said you still have the option of RSS or follow via the Fediverse!
And that all for now. You might see one more blog before my next video, but if not, I hope my fighting game skills do not offend anyone.
