Youtube Hiatus Coming Up (And General Update)
This is a bit early to announce, but starting the beginning of December, I’m taking a break from Youtube until Febuaray 2023. I will be making a short on the channel of officially announce this, but I wanted to say this in blog as it’s faster to get out.
What this break will mean is that I will not be recording anything video, or audio (VO) related until February. I’ll like still be writing scripts, and to this blog (Don’t make me tap the description), but will be the extent of my work in that time.
I already have some things already written down and even shot but I ran out of time before I took this break. Namely the Animal crossing wild world video and the Linux Laptop Video (Which I now I have to redo).
So in short…
Why The Break?
It’s been fun actually being able to get a video out a month. It’s been really rewarding to see that if I was able to I could do this monthly if I wanted to. But it was quite draining to try and do the videos monthly, and still have a full time job. I am unsure if I could keep up my current pace without a serious readjustment to my time
My schedule for my full time job is also changing next year, and I need to adjust to that before going forward on making more content.
Also I want to reorganize and reevaluate the channel and its presentation. Take a step back will help with that. (and I need to delete some old footage i’m low on storage)
General Guidelines Going Forward
So when I return in February I think my best idea to set a guideline for when I start making video content again:
Videos will be every 2 months
Shorts will be every 2 weeks
The reason I say Guideline is mostly because I know if I don’t put up a goal I’ll go back to just procrastinate. Ideally I want to keep up a consistency but I also want to cut myself some slack. I also don’t want to call it a deadline as stuff happens and I’m doing this as a hobby first and foremost.
If I can get more done? Great! I’ll post more for that month? If it’s less? I’ll try to put more time into the video I’m working on so it was worth the wait. My main goal for this year is being constant as possible, and improving the videos. And growth comes, then it comes. If not, I’m cool just to vibe another year not taking content OVERLY serious. Literally the name of the channel/brand is an inside joke.
Also want to revamp my channels presentation (aka graphics, PFP, and an ACTUAL BANNER) and hope to do that some time in the middle of 2023. Might do that over the break too but no promises.
