Radicalization: Its not social media...

I know Congress is trying to scapegoat companies like Reddit, Valve (Steam), and Twitch, but let’s be real — the real culprit behind the “radicalization” of youth is Republicans.

Republican policies themselves push people left. Their crusade to erase minority voices and erase their prominence in society radicalizes people. Their obsession with making the ultra-wealthy even richer while stomping on the working class’s ability to survive radicalizes people. Their attacks on the elderly and disabled — groups almost everyone has in their family or friend circle — through defunding Medicaid, cutting Social Security, and making it nearly impossible for low-income or sick people to get even halfway decent healthcare, radicalizes people.

And then there’s their devotion to corporate overlords. They shovel wealth upward while workers break their backs with grueling hours or multiple jobs just to keep their heads above water. That radicalizes people too.

So no, it’s not just “terminally online” kids on social media. And yet — why target so-called “left-leaning” platforms like Reddit or Twitch, while ignoring Meta and X? I’ve seen so much unchecked right-wing AI slop on those platforms it’s laughable. I’ve literally seen sexual assaults, murders, and gore posted there — stuff that, when reported, magically “doesn’t break the Terms of Service.” And yet, they’re not the ones being dragged before Congress.

Gee, I wonder why? Could it be because this isn’t about public safety or radicalization at all? Could it be because Republicans need a scapegoat to cover for the chaos they have been sowing for decades?

It’s just another example in a long list proving the Republican Party is unprincipled, hypocritical, and dangerous. I only hope people start seeing this circus for what it is.
