About me
🌿 I founded and was the CEO of Parse.ly from January of 2009 to March of 2022. At Parse.ly we believed the best companies are the ones with the best content, and we made that belief a reality through content analytics. In February of 2021 we found another company that had the same belief, Automattic, makers of WordPress. Automattic acquired us as their largest acquisition by cost and revenue. After transitioning and integrating the company I decided to take a step back to tickle my curiosities outside of analytics, and to spend more time with my family.
💻 We started Parse.ly as a distributed first company with an “office” in NYC for the business / sales team and support for WFH everywhere else. Office is in quotes because we really treated it like an internet cafe. Nobody was required to come and you could WFH as often as you liked. This meant we were one of the first startups to have a truly distributed culture with employees in several time zones.
🎓 Previously, I was an EdTech consultant for the Department of Education in NYC, and before that I was a public high school teacher (math / econ) in Brownsville, Brooklyn.

🍕 I live in Brooklyn with my wife, May, our daughter, Amara, and our dog, Jamba.
