Ever notice how we love to think we’re more evolved than people back in the early 1900s? Like, “Oh my god, World War II was insane, how could they even let that happen?” We act like we’ve leveled up as a species. Like we’ve outgrown all that madness.
But have we really? It’s been, what, almost a century? And somehow we’re back in the same loop 🔁 fascism, extremism, racism, radicalism, every “ism” possible and more. Different faces, worse poison. If anything, we’ve just rebranded it and shoved it into society’s throat—we’re just more distracted, individualist and egocentric.
And here’s where Maslow’s hierarchy comes in. The theory says once we’ve handled basic survival needs like food, shelter, safety, etc. We should naturally move toward higher stuff: self-awareness, purpose, growth, connection. But it feels like we got stuck somewhere between comfort and ego. Like we climbed a couple steps on the pyramid, then just stopped and sat there, doing nothing(s**tting at its best 😂) No one’s trying to get to the top anymore.
People are so wrapped in their own little worlds! status, image, control!! no reflection, no depth. Just reaction after reaction. It’s wild. Our ancestors, for all their flaws, were real about survival. They had to be present. They felt life.
Well, Who’s really primitive?
P.S.
“Ego” means “I am” in Latin. 😁 I’ve started learning Latin since I’m done talking to living people! maybe it’s time to speak the language of the dead😌
