So, I randomly came across this interview Lewis Hamilton did with Jay Shetty. Probably the algorithm doing its thing. I had just watched some behind-the-scenes clips from Brad Pitt’s F1 movie, and then this popped up. But honestly, I really enjoyed it. I had no idea Lewis was such a cool, grounded guy with this empathic vibe.
I’ve never really followed F1, and I think a big part of that was… I don’t know, maybe a little bit of jealousy?😂 If that makes any sense. Both my sister and I have always been obsessed with cars, and I genuinely think we’re great drivers. Our dad taught us how to drive really early. He used to take us to these quiet spots with no traffic and show us the basics. My sister could drive when she was 10. Later on, he even took us karting.
Watching F1 was always kind of hard for me😅 not because I didn’t like it, but the total opposite! because I couldn’t just watch it casually. I wanted to feel it, to be in it, like a driver. I guess that’s why I never became a fan the way others did.
But yeah, back to Lewis—it’s rare to come across someone that successful who still comes off as humble and real. It made an impression. I don’t know if I’ll suddenly start following all the races, but if I get the chance to experience it live, I’m totally down. There’s just something about the sound of engines in real life that hits different. TV doesn’t do it justice 🙁 same way I felt when I went to my first live basketball and football games. The energy is just next level.
