New Plymouth Port – stitched panorama

View looking North from Paritutu Rock, over the Port and New Plymouth city. The sunrise is trying to show but never went orange, just a dull purple glow through the clouds before the sun actually breached the horizon.
Early one morning recently I decided to walk up #Paritutu Rock. At around 5:20AM.

Why would I do this.

Half way up I decided that lugging all my gear to the top was a dumb idea in the dark, so stopped at the mid-way point where the climb gets more difficult. I set up my tripod on the small landing, making sure there was room for anyone to get past fine. I mounted the X-H1 on top... and then realised I really to need a wider lens. The #Fujifilm XF50-140 is a touch too zoomed for this sort of thing.

So I decided to take multiple images and hope that #Lightroom or something could stitch them together. And guess what; it did just fine. lightroom view of the images before stitching into a single image

I did work out I probably need to turn stablisation off, as a bunch of the images are really blurry; there was no movement and I used a 2second timer so they should have all been very sharp. Something to test.
