A high-functioning narcissistic boy would have the same interpretation as a low-social-skills narcissistic boy. Because they can't help themselves not doing that. It's impossible that one is not better than the other. Except they also learn some more of the fake “theory of mind”, or “tacts”.

So you don't hear them saying out loud that “You are crazy about me, the 1 am text is the proof of that!” Because that will contradict rule 1. Which makes you think everything goes well, and they are respectful to you. But it's not. Which is why it takes a longer time to see their pattern. But they always out themselves.
