College graduates all say microeconomics works wonders, macroeconomics works wonders. As soon as the real estate market dropped, landlords pathetically begged billionaires to intervene with the government, like they actually believed they were some sort of oppressed.

I had to listen to them describing their disgusting personal lives during breaks. Then the idea sessions came, all they wanted to do was for patriotic, humanistic values.

It doesn't matter if microeconomics works or not. It is rarely used in real life. They only use all the fancy theories to explain what they want people, or even themselves, to believe. What they actually do most of the time doesn't have anything to do with economics.
