No I didn't have any idol.
Idol culture was very common when I was a teenager, especially among middle-upper class and city kids. The kids were very slow and didn't think of another option where you can listen to someone's music and don't want to know a single detail about their personal life or hear another one of their stupid takes on social issues.
They just called every band/singer you listen to or like as “idol”. Didn't know “idol” implies idealizing a person to the point of an unrealistic image. Sloppy thinking comes from sloppy choice of words.
So yeah, the “older” bit was intentional. Don't know why though. I'm not gonna pretend that it's remotely scientific that age represents wisdom and integrity. Because most people older than me are stupid. But I do like you being older.
