When I was 16, my sister's friend asked her: “Does Son still say inappropriate things on the internet?”. She thought what I said online was shocking, she should hear what I said to my teachers in their faces.
But the internet was safer back then. And I was a minor so society owed me protection no matter what.
Since my nemesis spread false rumors about me and my family everywhere because he was sadistic and an idiot, most people didn't want to be friends with me during that time. Which, I counted as a blessing because I didn't have to make those damn conversations with boring people about the ugly weather anymore. It worked for both of us as it turned out.
As I started posting my daily notes about my life as a teenager, a bunch of strangers of different ages and from different cities felt it suspiciously relatable and wanted to be my friends. Others were people from school I never talked to in real life, but found me interesting and didn't care for what others said.
So this is not the first time I have spoken out to the world. But way more secretive and selective this time.
