I know there’s nothing I can say
to convince you that you didn’t mess up
to stop you from being cruel to yourself
or beating yourself up

I liked that you didn’t quit
That you tried your best
I hope you’ll be kind to yourself
And give yourself some rest

Even when it doesn’t go well
No matter how hard you try
That’s no reason to stop
Even if you want to go home and cry

You’ll get it in time
Remember to keep getting back up
Because my favorite part by far
was the part where you didn’t give up
