Focus on the Light

It’s easy to focus
on all the negatives
on the misery
on everything that’s missing

After a time
that’s all you see
that’s all you know
and there’s nothing else

Even when it’s small
it appears so large
that you can’t fight it
not all alone

But that’s not all there is
think of happiness and love
even if you don’t have a lot
every tiny bit helps

Even when your life is full of darkness
Try to focus on the light
It will help you to move forward
into a bright, shining future
