Kindness to Show

When you’ve been hurt
it’s hard to recover
and easy to push others away
as you seek safe shelter

But when you’re feeling down
people will be there
if you give them the chance
they’ll show that they care

It’s okay to trust them
people won’t always hurt you
everyone has bad days
they’ve been there too

Life isn’t always as bad
as you think it’s going to go
sometimes, people will surprise you
and you’ll find that they have kindness to show
