You shared your light with someone special
But they made you feel oh so terrible
The support and love that you always bring
so many people decided they didn’t need
Now you’re here, sad and afraid
Wishing so badly that they’d all stayed
I can’t understand why people pushed you away
I know it hurt you, but anyway
I guess that means there’s more of you for me

You always walk with hope and kindness
No matter how dark your world is
Believing in everyone, seeing their best
Telling us all we’re not like the rest
Even after life pushed and shoved
With you, I never doubt that I’m loved
I can’t understand why people pushed you away
You’re exactly what I want, so anyway
I guess that means there’s more of you for me

Your love is infinite, but your time is not
If your body’s always weary, your mind always shot
Well then, that’s no good for those of us
who love you and care for you without a fuss
Those people that wanted you to change aren’t worth it
I hope you accept our love, you deserve it
I can’t understand why people pushed you away
I like you the way you are, so anyway
I guess that means there’s more of you for me
