The Hawk's Flight

Lots of people have helped me
They showed me how to spread my wings
Lifted me up, helped me take flight
But then, I didn't know where to go

When I was up there in the sky
I drifted left and right
following impulse and instinct
With little idea of where I was going

When I first landed, I knew I wanted more
I knew what it looked like, how it felt
But I didn't know if I could do it
Then I spotted your path and took flight

I'm not following it exactly
That's your path, not mine
but now I know what I want
I know what I can do

With an idea in my heart
And the guidance of many in my mind
It's time for me to take flight
in that beautiful, empty sky
