It’s not the words we say
it’s that we’re now talking
Before this, I was crawling
But I’ve stood up and started walking

You reached out from the blue
said that you were thinking of me
and it meant so much
even if people are a little scary

But I knew I had to
it was best for both of us
to reconnect after all these years
with all this distance between us

I’ll always remember you
and the time we talked together
because it showed me that if I’m too scared
I’ll never have a chance to be better
