Uncomfortable

It's uncomfortable to stand up
To speak out when something's wrong
Like standing before looming faceless judges
That hold my fate in their hands

When I speak out
I feel so small and helpless
Will anyone else think it's wrong?
What if no one else stands up?

That fear has stopped me from acting
But no more
No longer can I be silent
It's time to speak out

It's frightening to consider
I don't even know how to start
But I've got to do it
It's my turn to help fix things

I hope you'll join me
Even if you're scared
I know it's uncomfortable
But so is being shot in the back
