When someone stabs a knife
full of ignorance and hate
right into your heart
it’s okay to want to stab back

There’s no changing some people
they proudly flaunt
everything that’s wrong with them
everything they used to hurt you

The feelings you have now
so much pain, so much anger
drive you to lash out
even at those for whom you care

Don’t fight on their level
You are better than that
Show them a better way
A way without hate

Stop the cycle
Rise above it
Don’t fight with hate
Win instead with kindness
