You’re a Star

You see yourself
as an empty, black hole
as though “monster”
is your only role

Wallowing in misery
obsessed with the past
believing that your mistakes
are the only thing that lasts

Yet no matter how dark
the world is at night
in you always walk
and give us a little light

I only wish you knew
the truth of who you are
even if you can’t see it
you are a bright, shining star
