Quick AEW Revolution 2021 Thoughts

AEW Revolution 2021 was last night, taking place at the fabulous Daily's Place in Jacksonville, Florida. Let's get right to it!

The Buy-In

Riho and Thunder Rosa versus Britt Baker and Maki Itoh

For the pre-show match Britt got a surprise partner in Maki Itoh! A good match but the best part was the shock of seeing Itoh-chan!

Main Card

The Young Bucks versus MJF and Chris Jericho

Very good match. Looking forward to The Young Bucks versus their next challengers soon!

Casino Tag Team Royale

Speaking of the next challengers, this match was for a future shot at the AEW tag titles. Twas a lot of fun and the right guys (Pac And Rey Fenix) won.

Hikaru Shida versus Ryo Mizunami

Great match with a bit of a flat ending. To me Shida has finally been elevated to the point where it will be a big thing for Britt Baker to take the title from her. I was excited by the post match shenanigans as well.

Miro and Kip Sabian versus Chuck Taylor and Orange Cassidy

While good this probably shouldn't have been on the PPV.

Hangman Adam Page versus Matt Hardy

Solid stuff, but again probably more like a Dynamite match

Face of the Revolution Ladder Match

Fun match. Cool spots. It was indeed a ladder match that Scorpio Sky won!

Darby Allin and Sting versus Team Taz

Really cool visuals. Didn't totally makes sense, but it didn't make sense in ways that were understandable. Good job was done by all!

Kenny Omega versus Jon Moxley

Match itself was a good time. Unfortunately the final explosion did not go so well! With the exception of a too large explosion that killed everybody, it kind of went wrong in the worst way possible! The explosion in front of the hard camera barely happened at all, but there was some explosiveness on the sides which led to the commentary team talking up the impact of the heat.

Overall I was pretty happy with this show! Every match was at least good. I will say that AEW should be aiming for a PPV length of three to three and a half hours instead of the 4 and a half they are hitting now.

This is my day 69 post for #100daystooffload
