I came across the idea of a “3% employee and retention” fee while shopping at District Market in LaGuardia Airport. From what I’ve read, the Port Authority of NY has approved it, and big vendors like Starbucks are on board too. The fee helps airport vendors cover benefits such as health insurance and paid time off, which supports employee well-being and retention.
