A Place for My Ideas

Gustav Adolf Church (Borås)

Paradoxically; as an atheist, I have many good memories from Gustav Adolf Church in Borås…

First time, I attended its Sunday ceremony coincidentally; as I was coming back from University of Borås Library in a boring evening.

The church had just rung its bells (later I found out it is a sound by a speaker and not a real church bell!), and there was nothing exciting to do in my quiet room. So, I just went there and sat and watched…

The best thing about preaches was that they were in Swedish and I couldn't understand a word!
Therefore, I could sit and listen and really enjoy its beautiful music and hymns.

It became one of my hobbies in the Borås Sundays… Go and sit in Gustav Adolf Church and enjoy the music and ceremony.

Sometime, thanks to my regular visits to church, I could be aware and attend very nice ceremonies like Mozart Birthday in January 2011 at Gustav Adolf Church: It was a marvellous performance by Borås Choir, a night to be remembered!

Now, little-by-little, I'm getting ready to move out from Borås, I feel more nostalgic about my regular habit of Sundays… Hopefully, I’ll find another charming and cosy church in my next city and go there to enjoy its ceremonies.
