To Watch and Watch and Watch and....
A few days ago, for no particular reason, R. and I watched ALL 3 Divergent movies. In order. Without skipping around (I usually skip around when I watch movies; whether I've seen them before or not unless the movie is somehow TOO GOOD to skip (which is exceedingly rare)) and without any breaks in between.
It was a horrible (awful, excruciating, agonizing, soul-destroying) experience and unless I am binge watching the LOTR trilogy again I will NEVER do something like this (again!). Well, there might be exceptions in the future, but they will be VERY rare and sporadic and I will take appropriate breaks and skip around (just a little bit) when absolutely necessary.
We started watching around 6:30PM (Friday, July 16th) and finished around 12:48am (Saturday, July 17th). In the beginning, R. and I joked around and “enjoyed” the silliness of it all, but by the time the opening credits of the 3rd movie came around I wanted to jump into the deepest hole on planet Earth and nap until a pack of wild animals devoured me alive.
But why, you might ask? Why would we—would I—put myself/ourselves through such a torturous endeavor without putting up a fight?
Well, it all goes back to the COVID vaccine and me being “sick” for two weeks because of it. During that time I had very little energy/desire to do anything, so I did what any rational person would do: I read books and watched movies all day long.
In no particular order here are all of the movies I watched ALONE and with R. beginning June 15th and ending July 15th*

FIFTY. I watched FIFTY movies in the span of a month. If that isn't crazy (for a normal person) then I don't know what it. Well, I do; but you get what I mean.
Perhaps if I had spent less time watching movies and more time writing SNAB would be updated more often.
Godspeed.

*R. and I have made it a habit to watch one movie together (or sometimes two or three) a night and as of writing this post we have not broken our new ritual. As I write this we are currently watching the 2015 live-action Cinderella.)
