We all have stories, these are mine. I tell them with a heart full of love and through eyes of kindness.

Beautiful Mornings

dimmed some by exhaustion that comes and goes with thought

We’re out walking in this incredible spring weather. Oh! Splendid breeze and sunshine just warm enough to counter the cool.

Friendly people here in this neighborhood we are visiting. Few dogs and big grand old dames of homes. Bones built in the 40’s when lumber measured and matched.

One house has burned. Thoroughly. The front half is just charred lumber. The rest has all the windows smashed out and the roof is gone.

Peering in I can see a lifetime burned and piled haphazardly. The work of robust men trying to stop the conflagration.

My lady was up late suffering. Which means I was too. Cleanup on aisle left when her nausea got the better of her. I was regretting the scrambled eggs instead of sticking with saltines. But, one needs calories to heal. And there's no one I'd rather clean up for more than this woman. And she loves to talk. She likes me to talk her to sleep.

This of course spun me up for my discourse on alcoholism early this morning. It was very exciting to think about. I was connecting dots like an orchestra conductor. They still make sense this morning.

For an inexplicable reason I decided to stay up screening Perks of Being a Wallflower but was unable to complete the story. It’s a compelling tale of coping with trauma and the power of friendship. Bonding is a central theme.

All this is to say, up late and up early makes Woolf a tired boy. But, there is work to be done and miles to go before I sleep.
