It keeps changing from rain to snow and back again. My goals today include staying off the road, studying for meeting, a ceragem session and preparing a pot of navy beans. The fire will be missed once John leaves for his trip tomorrow. 🔥

Speaking of worry, fielding a wacko from my FSG who thinks I was targeting him with my comment on needing to be aware of not overwhelming householders with our Bible knowledge. 🙄

The only knowledge he is in danger of overwhelming ppl with is ignorance… but I can’t tell him that. So, I let him know I was talking bout myself (I was).

I forget what else. The bag were stuffed to the gills with a variety of joys.

[12/9/25, 6:34:45 AM] WLFW: I woke up about 4 and just lay in the dark thinking. I kept wanting to get up and write, but I wanted to stay wrapped up, a burrito coming back from oblivion more than I wanted to brave the cold.

My main goal was to get up early. Check.
[12/9/25, 7:24:12 AM] WLFW: 32oz down. Now, with electrolytes! Went out to watch the sun rise. Gorgeous Padme sky just before sunrise. The cold makes everything… more.

Wrapped in my giant blanket now. Nothing can penetrate this massive thing and I am so comfy.

It's freezing outside) and they get soup too since Devon has been working her rail off lately. Then to Alicia, who hurts. Not sure she will be able to answer the door, but this soup will fix her right up. I didn't save any for us, but there are other things to eat up . Our fridge isn't scary.

A red rose tying her hair back in a tight black wash. She’s been dancing for 10m her back and arms glisten with sweat. She is 100% physically engaged. I don’t know what story she is telling but she is speaking to my heart. I have. Hills.

And second dancer claps and taps along behind her wearing a stunning wine colored velvet dress. She’s too wears a black shock of hair.

She has already finished her set. All but making love to the audience. Her performance is soul-shattering. I am moved to welting eyes and chills up and down my body.

The patron in front of me was also moved to tears. I can see her dabbing at her eyes. She is stunningly blond. A white Spaniard.

An older rotund man without hair is strumming his flamenco guitar, about to set it on fire with his in leashed energy.

Now a young man with a red blouse and black and white Polk dot sash is unleashing every fiber of his sole into his clatters and stumps. Motions are precise and powerful.

The Spanish patrons are shouting ‘ole’ and ‘Aya’.

The sound is quiet and then loud. His speed is inhuman.

Behind it all, the vocalist shouts and sings melodiously. Clapping and occasionally tugging his socks up as they keep sliding down as he stomps and taps in time.

I prefer the graze and motion of the women. But his skill and power are absolute undeniable.

The rhythms are chaotic and drift into synchronicity. Random and chaotic and then perfectly in sync. And I have no idea where each beat and tap is coming from.

I have only been here 24h and already can see the way this trip shift my soul.

I didn’t realize you couldn’t just buy it. You have to have it handed to you as you go on the plane so which was fine. It didn’t bother me. I very good naturedly told her 'you obviously don’t know who I am, Do you?'
And she stopped and looked at me real close. She’s Congolese, so American culture escapes her. Before she could answer, I said “good. It’s nice to be anonymous sometimes!”

Tomorrow is to the airport for a 1:30 hop to Porto Portugal. We’ll spend two nights in a hotel (maybe 3) so Ange can decompress. Then we’ll spend the balance of the week with our friends and stay with them. Flying back here on 12/21. Very late. I think we land at like 10:30 local. But it was either that or a 6a’ flight. Blech! No thanks.

By then we should be acclimated to the time and will start investigating the myriad museums.

My anxiety seems to be easing as we get familiar with the metro and find that ppl here are genuinely very helpful.

Everyone wants this to be a successful trip and so far, it has been.

Lost bag is still in JFK jail. :–/
Bought a nice scarf to replace Ang’s. And she was VERY happy.

Okay. Showering and then-oof. 1am. I’d better go to sleep or tomorrow will be a heck of a long day!
