Let Go

Would you let him go
If you knew it would
Make him happy?
Would you make him go
If you knew it would
Make you happy?
Holding a burning coal
on the coldest night
Will scald and burn
Just as you’d drown
In an icy pool
In the deepest desert
You may want him
And he may long for you
But there is no room
To describe this
As a need when
both are
Already so rich
And full of life
And love.
If Jesus comes
he won't let to
He doesn't think
He can
But there is no
Choice to be made
There is life or
A big pile of stones
Nothing like a sharpened sword to sever those difficult gordian knots, my friend.
