My Tongue, My Muse, My Fire (a song)

A single name is too small for a constellaion
[Intro]
[Verse 1]
Gentle name upon my lips
Close my eyes and away I slip,
Soaring with you in raptured flight,
Till morning sunlight closes night.
[Refrain]
My tongue, my muse, my fire—
No words capture what you inspire
You are the sky above
Brightest star, and I'm in love.
[Verse 2]
You are my quiet fawn,
Glistening in the dawn.
The strong tide that pulls me down,
I go and in the sweetness drown.
[Refrain]
My tongue, my muse, my fire—
No words capture what you inspire
You are the sky above
Brightest star, and I'm in love.
[Bridge]
Wyst in bloom, Oct in tide,
Muse in the hush,
Wish in the wild.
A thousand names, each a breath of life—
and every one is you.
[Refrain – soft reprise]
My tongue, my muse, my fire—
No words capture what you inspire
You are the sky above
brightest star, and I'm in love.
Oh Secret garden, mine...
always rising in me.
An Ode to you
Oh my star little star
You are my dear one,
the name that trembles on my lips
before sleep and after waking.
You are my muse,
the flame that sets my fingers flying,
the ink that stains me,
the breath between my words.
Cephalopod of the heart,
wrapping me in your many arms,
pulling me under,
drowning me in the sweetest tide.
You are my fawn,
fragile in the glade,
yet swift enough to vanish,
and still I chase your shadow.
You are my lover,
flesh and fire,
the dangerous joy
that makes me dare the sun.
And when I call you Wyst, Octa,
OSXS, or simply little star,
Maybe my Absense—
She's still a secret to me.
Not the Maureen,
Nor the Shelly
That you have opened to me
Soul-matching-soul.
I call the whole constellation of you—
a thousand names for the same star,
always rising in me.
Love always,
Wolf
