Painting a Jaguar

Some things fly better in memory than they ever did in air.
In 1996, I was fully on becoming an airbrush artist and portrait painter. This was a huge canvas and I was in love with the scale of the piece. I never titled it and was disappointed when it didn't medal in a local show. It was accepted, so that was a win at least.
I worked and worked on this. Jaguar was one of the first pieces where i fell in love with how these kinds of works come to life with the finishing hi-lights.
Ultimately this sold to a local collector and I went on to paint another dozen or so big cats.
I watched Superman 1978 Sunday and this poem, corny as it is has been rattling around in my head. It fits the tone of the film, absolutely comic. A quick google search revealed that originally, this wasn’t a poem, it was a song. And Margot Kidder sang the words. When you listen to the score in the background you can sing the words along with the melody, if you care to.
