A heartwarming film based on a terrific book.
This one REALLY surprised me. I saw on animation blog somewhere that it was worthy of investigation because of the technical achievement. And most certainly, it is no slouch visually. I am still shocked at the animator's ability to so perfectly capture the original style of the book. Terrific.
But, I did not expect the story to be so absolutely touching. Anyone who struggles with feelings of self-worth, disenfranchisement or just wants to feel loved... this film will be an incredible journey. For me, my FAVORITE stories are those were disparate characters align and come together to solve a problem or overcome and obstacle.
It's beautiful. Visually and narratively. 5 stars. Recommend. Recommend. Recommend.
